Default Syncro wear

These pics are from a random Honda in my shed.
This is a complete gear. The teeth on the top, are what mesh the gears together. Notice the teeth, how they are worn. This is were the nasty crunchs come from.


This is the easiest, replaceable part. It acts as a brake, to speed up the gear, so they can connect, at similar speeds.


This guy, is directly connected to the shaft. See the splines on the inside. A sleeve slides on top of this then, and when it connects to the gear, the shaft is locked to the gear. The next few pics will show.



Notice how there are teeth on this too.



This is it engaged now. Hopefully you can see on this operates now. The purpose of the teeth, is to try and get it to engaged better.
This gear set is bollixed,so new teeth, would look much better
