Hi,
I have a J reg CRX import with an intermittent starting problem. Sometimes is starts & sometimes not. My local garage can't work it out. Could is be something to do with the immobilizer? When it doesn't start, the fuel pump is not being engaged. I could wait 5 minutes & then it starts again OK. Anyone heard of this? Could it be a faulty immobilzer? Is it to do with the fact its an import? Are there any specialist Honda/import garages that could help? Thanks for any help. |

Is it a VTEC?
Sounds like a main relay problem to me. Easy fix if you're handy with a soldering iron. There is a full write up at http://www.marklamond.co.uk/tech-hon...main-relay.htm

was the ignition ever tampered with?check and see nothins taped up under there but i presume ur loca garage woud check that

That's the main relay problem, all right. As Mark said, read teh write-up and get the soldering iron out.

bought a 90 crx sir , totally mint in every way but having running prob . thought it was the map sensor . tried two of them and no diff . but if i pull off one of the air pipes running from the intake manifold off the car will idle perfect but with it connected the revs go up and down between 800 rpm and 2000 rpm in a constant rythum . need help . anyone come across this before . ash . . . . . .
